Autosar between home stretch and new challenges

Autosar, the common software architecture for cars, is becoming increasingly relevant
for real-world automotive electronics design. While earlier Autosar releases defined basic functionality and development methodologies, the current version takes care of one of the paramount topics in automotive electronics: Functional Safety. But new challenges are already in sight. The common software architecture is in “Phase Three” of its planned lifecyle.
