Dassault takes over automotive design software vendor Geensoft
According to DS, most companies across industries currently are facing significant challenges mastering the growing complexity of systems and complying with stringent quality and safety regulations, while controlling costs and delivery time. In recent years, DS has invested to meet customer demand for multi-disciplinary integration and collaboration, and thereby support its customers' transformation strategies.

“As chairman of the Modelica Association,” said Prof. Dr.-Ing. Martin Otter, Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics, DLR Research Center Oberpfaffenhofen. “I am very enthusiastic about this acquisition, which will further boost the smooth integration of Modelica and AUTOSAR provided through the EUROSYSLIB and MODELISAR European Research projects. Modelica is the winning language for multi-disciplinary systems modeling and simulation. You will now be able to generate embedded code directly from Modelica and run it in the context of the virtual product model.” Geensys’ probably most prominent product is AUTOSAR builder, a software platform for the development of automotive applications.
DS’s V6 PLM platform provides a collaborative environment that aims at bringing together multiple systems engineering disciplines, working with many disconnected domain specific tools today. By leveraging Geensoft technology on the V6 platform, and exploiting the power of 3D together with information search technology, DS believes it is positioned to deliver a new class of PLM systems engineering solutions.
