HiL test system grows with its requirements

The NovaCarts Advanced hardware-in-the-loop (HiL) systems from Micronova fit on any desk and therefore are ideal for developer workplaces. Users thus can test electronic control units (ECUs) and even detail functions easily. With their low purchase price these HiL systems are ideal for entry-level workplaces at automotive OEMs and tier ones. If necessary, the systems can be updated and upgraded gradually.

In its basic configuration, NovaCard Advanced is a powerful Linux-based computer running NovaCard’s real-time application software. The system has many connectors for various I/O units and components, such as, for example, the NovaCarts Multi I/O Board. In addition, thanks to its integrated vehicle bus node, the test system has multiple automotive field buses such as CAN, CAN FD or LIN.

In the maximum configuration, the system can be used by test departments to review vehicle functions in which multiple ECUs are involved. For instance, the system enables realistic approval tests on the powertrain or on undercarriage components in a timely manner, cost-efficiently and at a high test coverage. Likewise it enables test engineers to carry out in-depth tests of ECU-spanning functionalities and the interaction of multiple components.

NovaCarts Advanced HiL simulators are compatible with other NovaCarts systems and thus can be interconnected to configure compound systems.
