TB9061AFNG enables cars equipped with an idling reduction system cut out to easily switch the power source for oil and engine cooling pumps from the engine to an electric motor when the system is activated. The IC is rated for use within an operational temperature range of -40°C to +125°C, making it suitable for use in engine compartments.
Toshiba’s brushless motor drive IC achieves 120° rectangular wave motor control by using an input signal line that measures the induced voltage of the motors and three-phase motor output without using Hall sensors. The IC enables simple system configuration and smaller PCB size. Motor rotation can be controlled by either the DC input signal or the PWM input signal. Housed in an SSOP24 package measuring 7.8 x 7.6 x 1.2 mm, the IC is rated for an operating voltage range of +5.5 to 18V.
The IC features a number of diagnostic circuits and drive control functions including over-current detection and a motor drive current limiter circuit, over-temperature detection (both internal and external), over-voltage detection and low-voltage detection of VCC. Motor lock detection, step out detection and automatic return control circuits are also incorporated.
