GrammaTech, Inc., has announced that CodeSonar, the company’s static analysis product, has been certified for use in the development of safety-critical software according to several international standards: ISO 26262, IEC 61508, and EN 50128 for automotive systems, medical devices, and railway applications, respectively.

CodeSonar has now been independently audited by SGS TÜV Saar GmbH, where it was analysed for its functionality and development processes in resepct of conformance to the requirements of these standards, and subsequently awarded a certificate confirming it is approved for developing software for these safety standards.

Originally spun out of Cornell’'s computer science labs, GrammaTech is now both a research centre for software security and a commercial vendor of software-assurance tools and advanced cyber-security solutions, with both static and dynamic analysis tools that analyse source code as well as binary executables.
