The MDK-ARM Development Kit from Hitex Development Tools GmbH offers a pre-certified compiler for safety-relevant designs. In its latest version 5.12, the tool kit now also supports - besides all popular Cortex and ARM 7/9 microcontrollers - the Cortex-M7. In addition, it contains useful enhancements supporting project management tasks.

The compiler is certified by TUEV SUED and thus facilitates developing processes that have to meet the requirements of safety standards. For instance, standards like IEC 61508 and ISO 26262 demand the proof that the compiler in use meets the according safety standards. Developers abide to these rules if they follow the instructions of the ARM Compiler Qualifications Kit which comes with the MDK-ARM Professional Edition at no extra cost. The kit contains a safety manual, a test report and a defect report for the description of the compiler validation. This tool set enables developers to implement safety requirements efficiently and without the need to re-qualify the tools. The TUEV certificate and the respective report are accepted as a proof for the conformance of the Compiler Qualification Kit for safety levels up to SIL 3 (IEC 61508), or ASIL D (ISO 26262).
